Job Overview
We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our plastic extrusion team. This is an entry-level position with paid, hands-on training.
Also seeking individuals with 2 to 3 years of operator experience.
Operators manually feed plastic material into extrusion machines, learn the extrusion process, and perform quality inspections while maintaining a safe work environment.
Working Conditions
• Manufacturing environment with moderate noise and heat around extrusion equipment.
• Continuous production environment.
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots or shoes are recommended.
• Hand-feed plastic material into the extrusion line.
• Load all extrusion lines by carrying buckets of plastic material and climbing three steps to dump material into the machine throughout the shift.
• Monitor machine operation and report any equipment issues.
• Inspect finished products for quality and perform visual inspections.
• Learn to use precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
• Read and interpret blueprints after training.
• Accurately read and use a ruler or tape measure.
• Record production and quality information.
• Stack and package finished products.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
For experienced operators
Tear down and clean out extruders
Setup and bring up to production extrusion lines
Make necessary adjustments to processing
Perform all duties described above once extruder is running

Qualifications
• Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure is required.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn extrusion, blueprint reading, and the use of micrometers and calipers.
• Reliable attendance with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry buckets weighing up to 50 pounds and safely climb five steps while loading the extrusion machines throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical work in a manufacturing environment.
