Plastic Extrusion Setup Technician – Night Shift
Pay: $20.00–$32.00 per hour
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Hours: 40–48 hours per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plastic Extrusion Setup Technician to join our manufacturing team on the night shift. This role is responsible for independently setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting multiple extrusion lines to ensure efficient production, high-quality output, and minimal scrap. The ideal candidate will have prior plastic extrusion setup experience, strong mechanical skills, and a solid understanding of PVC extrusion processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, and operate multiple plastic extrusion lines independently
  • Monitor production processes to maintain product quality and minimize scrap
  • Troubleshoot extrusion equipment and process issues using knowledge of PVC extrusion and compounds
  • Assist with training and supporting extrusion operators as needed
  • Identify equipment concerns and provide recommendations for repairs and process improvements
  • Read and interpret part prints and production specifications
  • Maintain compliance with all plant safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently met
Qualifications
  • Prior plastic extrusion setup experience required
  • Strong understanding of PVC extrusion processes and materials
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and part prints
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to successfully complete the 2nd Extrusion Operator Test during the probationary period
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Wisconsin ID required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for 10–12-hour shifts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
