Plastic Molding Production Technician (Setup & Quality)

This position pays between $19.00 - $20.00 an hour

Step into a day on our production floor

You arrive for your shift at Pretium Packaging and begin by reviewing the production schedule. You set up plastic molding machines to the required specifications, verify material availability, and calibrate settings for optimal performance. As the line ramps up, you watch cycle times and outputs closely, making fine adjustments so every part meets spec. When a machine hesitates, you troubleshoot quickly, swap a worn component, and log the maintenance. Throughout the shift, you pull samples to inspect dimensions and finish, update inventory counts of raw materials, and alert your supervisor when it’s time to replenish. You keep your cell clean, follow established safety protocols, and wrap up by documenting results and preparing the station for the next run—ready for whatever production needs come next.

Role snapshot — Multiple openings

• Set up and operate plastic molding equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor machine performance, make in-process adjustments, and maintain optimal run conditions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs to sustain uptime.
• Inspect finished parts for quality; make corrections as needed to hold standards.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during production to minimize downtime.
• Track raw material usage, maintain inventory, and notify your supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
• Keep a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Prior experience operating plastic molding machines preferred.
• Working knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude; technical training with packaging, plastics, and printing equipment a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong manual dexterity and keen attention to detail.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and clear verbal/written communication.
