PLASTICS ENGINEERING MANAGER

This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering leadership in a well-funded manufacturing operation that consistently invests in new equipment, technology upgrades, and long-term process improvements.

This role reports directly into senior plant leadership and works closely with operations, tooling, maintenance, and corporate engineering. The focus is execution, not theory. If your ideal job involves being on the floor, solving real problems, and leading technical teams through action, this role is built for that.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support technical staff responsible for daily manufacturing and process performance
  • Drive process improvements across injection molding and extrusion operations
  • Own tooling performance, mold and die upkeep coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead engineering projects including new equipment installation, equipment moves, and process changes
  • Serve as the primary technical problem-solver for manufacturing challenges and recurring issues
  • Maintain a strong floor presence and hands-on involvement with production teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of plastics processing, tooling performance, and manufacturing workflows
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing technicians or technical staff
  • Understanding of automation equipment and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to manage projects involving equipment, processes, and plant layout changes
  • Hands-on mindset with a preference for being actively involved on the plant floor

BENEFITS:

  • Annual bonus potential of approximately 10 percent
  • Strong 401(k) program with a 50 percent match up to 7 percent
  • Comprehensive medical and vision coverage
  • Flexible PTO approach that supports work-life balance
  • Relocation assistance available if needed

This role is being advertised in larger cities for confidentiality purposes, however, it may not be the exact location of the actual facility.
