Join Airspeed, a manufacturer of precision components for conducted energy devices and other demanding applications. In this Plastics Manufacturing Technician, Injection Molding & Robotics role, you will support automated production cells to run safely, efficiently, and with repeatable quality.
About the work
- Run day-to-day operations for injection molding and automated stations
- Track machine performance, quality output, and downtime signals
- Assist with startups, changeovers, parameter tweaks, and first-level troubleshooting
- Act as the go-to contact for minor automation and equipment concerns
- Surface issues early and escalate complex problems to the right experts
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership
- Keep the area clean, safe, and audit-ready
- Follow standard work, process requirements, and quality criteria
- Document process checks and production activity
- Contribute ideas that improve uptime, quality, and efficiency
Required qualifications
- Consistent, dependable attendance
- Mechanical aptitude; comfortable around machinery and automation
- Strong focus and observation skills in a fast-moving environment
- Willingness to troubleshoot, learn, and take ownership
- Commitment to process discipline and safety
- Ability to work night shift on a 2-2-3 rotation
- Effective communication and collaboration
- Motivation to grow into a more technical manufacturing path
Preferred experience
- Background in manufacturing, molding, machine operation, automation, or maintenance
- Experience diagnosing equipment issues on the production floor
- Exposure to plastics, robotics, or industrial maintenance
- Technical coursework, trade school, or continued industrial education
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional training in manufacturing, maintenance, mechatronics, or automation is a plus
Physical demands and environment
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift, move, and handle materials and components as needed
- Work around production equipment in a manufacturing setting
- Follow all plant and safety requirements
Schedule and compensation
- Night shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- 2-2-3 rotating schedule with built-in every-other-weekend time off
- Night shift differential: $1.50 per hour
