Plastics Processing Equipment Operator (Maintenance & QA)

This position pays between $19.00 - $20.00 an hour

If dialing in a molding machine, chasing down a process variance, and turning out flawless parts sounds like a great day, Pretium Packaging would like to meet you. We have multiple openings for operators ready to own quality, uptime, and safety on our thermoplastics lines.

Imagine this scenario

A rush order drops. You quickly set up the plastic molding machine using standard procedures, verify materials, and bring the line to rate. Mid-run, you spot a cosmetic defect, adjust parameters, and perform a quick maintenance check. You pull samples, compare to drawings, document results, and coordinate with your supervisor to replenish resin before the next job. The shift ends with a spotless workstation—safe, organized, and ready for tomorrow.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate plastic molding equipment per established procedures.
• Monitor performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to keep machines running at peak performance.
• Inspect finished parts and take corrective action to meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues as they arise to minimize downtime.
• Maintain raw material inventory levels; notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience with plastic molding machines is preferred.
• Understanding of plastics manufacturing processes and supporting equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude; exposure to packaging, plastics, and printing equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment.
• Problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills, written and verbal.
