Title: Platform Administrator
Location: Charlotte, NC (hybrid 4x per week)
Rate: $54-$62/HR Conversion $120k -$130k
Duration: Contract-to-Hire, 6 Months to Perm
Work Requirements: US Citizen, Green Card Holder

Our client is seeking a Platform Administrator to support the administration, security, performance, and ongoing availability of enterprise data analytics and business intelligence platforms. This role will help ensure business users and data teams have secure, reliable, and efficient access to the tools they need to analyze and visualize organizational data.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on administration experience with at least one enterprise data, analytics, or business intelligence platform. Experience across every platform is not required. Strong expertise in one platform—such as Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Power BI, or a comparable data/analytics platform—is highly valuable, with the ability to apply those administration concepts across additional technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Administration: Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support enterprise data and analytics platforms.
• Security & Access Management: Manage users, roles, permissions, authentication, security settings, and access controls to ensure appropriate and secure platform access.
• Platform Releases & Upgrades: Coordinate software releases, feature deployments, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes while maintaining platform stability.
• Performance & Availability: Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and availability; identify issues and optimize the environment as needed.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve issues related to connectivity, data access, platform functionality, user access, and system performance.
• User Administration: Provision and manage users, groups, roles, and permissions while supporting onboarding and ongoing access requirements.
• Collaboration: Partner with data analysts, business users, data/analytics teams, and IT to understand requirements and deliver effective platform solutions.
• Training & Enablement: Provide onboarding, training, and guidance to users while promoting platform best practices and effective utilization.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current on platform updates, new capabilities, administration best practices, and industry trends; identify opportunities to improve the organization's data platform environment.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on administration of one or more enterprise data, analytics, or BI platforms.
• Experience with Tableau, Sigma, Alteryx, Alation, Power BI, or comparable technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with security, role-based access control, user administration, permissions, and platform governance.
• Experience managing platform upgrades, releases, patches, and new features.
• Experience supporting enterprise users and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Strong understanding of data/analytics platform concepts and the ability to learn and administer new technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will become a trusted administrator and technical resource for the organization's data platforms—ensuring they are secure, reliable, well-maintained, and easy for business users and data teams to leverage. While experience with multiple platforms is beneficial, deep administration experience in one relevant platform is more important than superficial experience across many platforms.

Important: This is a hands-on platform administration role. Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to developing reports, dashboards, or analytics—without meaningful responsibility for platform administration, security, users, roles, permissions, upgrades, or releases—may not be the right fit.
