Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Platform Engineer 2 you will focus specifically on the application layer—packaging, vetting, deploying, and securing mobile applications. This includes ensuring secure, reliable app delivery for all our clinical and non-clinical applications. This role ensures that Service Central tickets are worked in a timely manner and any recurring themes in issues are escalated up. You aren't just managing devices; you are ensuring that the technology in a clinician’s hand is seamless, secure, and life-saving. 

Key Responsibilities

  • App Wrapping/SDK: Implement MDM SDKs or App Wrapping (AppConfig) to enforce data loss prevention (DLP) within apps (e.g., preventing copy/paste of patient data). 
  • Application Lifecycle: Manage the ingestion, deployment, updating, and retirement of internal (LOB) and public store applications. 
  • MAM Policies: Configure Mobile Application Management (MAM) policies in Intune to secure data on unmanaged (BYOD) devices. 
  • Vetting & Security: Analyze application permission requirements and privacy manifests before approval for the enterprise catalog. 
  • Kiosk Mode Configuration: specifically configuring “Single App Mode” or “Guided Access Mode” for shared clinical devices. 

The candidate will be involved in: 

  • Create and ensure the creation of documentation to support product teams, stakeholders, and training of level 1 and 2 support teams on new and existing features or complex workflows. 
  • Grow more junior engineers and lead technical discussions with vendors. 
  • Experience with deployment, support and on-site troubleshooting. 
  • Manage app onboarding, packaging and deployment. 
  • Ability to configure and maintain: App Protection policies, App Config policies, and managed app updates 
  • Supports clinical and other enterprise IT teams including facility techs and working to troubleshoot installation, updates, and access issues. 
  • Manage public, private, VPP and other business impacting apps. Coordinate testing and validation of app releases. 
  • Ensure apps meet security standards including NowSecure minimum scores and compliance requirements. 
  • • Creates and maintains documentation. 
  • Seeks opportunities to learn and lead newer team members. 
  • Customer support and troubleshooting as needed via Service Central / Service Now. 
  • Knowledge of security best practices for endpoint management. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and diagnose problems related to authentication via WorkspaceOne Access and Microsoft EntraID as they relate to the device and network. 
  • Participate in on-call and support rotation. 
  • Maintains operational documentation and any runbooks needed. 

Areas of Experience

  • Proficiency of either Microsoft Intune and/or WorkspaceOne UEM. 
  • Knowledge of security practices (CIS, OWASP, etc.) 
  • Azure DevOps or similar 
  • Change management 
  • Agile process experience 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's preferred
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience as part of a team of MDM engineers 
  • Experience working from a backlog 
  • Experience in Healthcare application development and/or data as a service offering 
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager (VPP) and Managed Google Play. 
  • Knowledge of mobile app development lifecycles and AppConfig standards. 
  • Exposure to security and data protection practices.
