Meeting notes with the manager:
Context & Background
Initially, the team was tasked with building a new customer portal as a replacement for Marketing Hub.
Over time, this requirement changed:
  • The team moved away from development
  • They inherited an existing platform (Marketing Hub consolidation)
  • Multiple Marketing Hub instances were consolidated into one single portal
Role Evolution
Earlier discussions included:
  • Full-stack developer
  • Heavy development skills
That is no longer the need - The role has now clearly shifted to:
Platform Operator – AMS (Adobe Managed Services) as a Cloud Service
This is an operations-first role, not a build role.

What They Are ACTUALLY Hiring For
They need someone who can:
  • Operate and manage the platform
  • Ensure platform reliability
  • Handle IT operations
  • Support incident management
  • Bring DevOps mindset, but not heavy coding
Quote in spirit:
"We truly are just looking for someone who can operate this platform.”

Skills That Matter NOW (Core Mandate)
These are non-negotiable for short-term success:
  • Platform Operations experience
  • IT Operations background
  • Platform Reliability / Stability ownership
  • AMS (Adobe Managed Services) familiarity (strongly preferred)
  • Cloud service operations
  • DevOps exposure (supporting, not building)
Not required:
  • Full-stack development
  • Heavy feature development
  • Large-scale coding ownership

Near-Future / Nice-to-Have (Not Immediate)
  • Some reporting work may come later
    • Not platform health dashboards
    • Business-linked reporting tied to Journey Studio
  • Limited development may appear later
    • Still ops > dev
    • Dev will never exceed ops (not even close)
Expectation:
95% Ops today → small Dev opportunity later, but never a dev-heavy role.
  1. Don't share developers, they will fail
  2. If candidates expect build work, they will disengage
  3. If resumes over-index on coding, they miss the point
This role needs:
Ownership
Stability mindset
Comfort with inherited platforms
Calm, operational maturity

This role is focused on operating and stabilizing an inherited Adobe Managed Services platform, with primary responsibility for platform reliability, IT operations, and DevOps support - not feature development.

Below is the formal JD , however, please stick to the meeting notes:

• Develop and implement automations and light orchestration to increase operational efficiency across cloud components.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of the Assets Compute services (e.g., image/video renditions, Sensei powered metadata extraction).

5. Integrations & Ecosystem Support
• Maintain integrations across Adobe Creative Cloud, Workfront, Workfront Fusion, Marketing systems, and external platforms (as referenced in AEM Assets on Cloud RACI).
• Ensure stability of API driven and Cloud Manager–based CI/CD interactions with AEM Assets environments.
• Collaborate with partner teams when new integrations or enhancements are required.

6. User Support & Enablement
