Join a team that is transforming the way Apple plans, strategizes, and delivers its cloud infrastructure footprint. Apple Cloud Services powers some of the worlds most loved products and services - from iCloud and Apple Pay to Apple Music - and our team sits at the center of making sure that infrastructure is always ready to meet the moment. We are a small, high-impact team operating at the intersection of engineering, finance, and operations, where the work you do directly shapes the customer experience for hundreds of millions of people around the world.
We are looking for an experienced Platform Supply Planner to join our Cloud Infrastructure Business Operations team. In this role, you will serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for ensuring that infrastructure supply is in place to meet the demands of key Apple platforms and services. Working hand-in-hand with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Finance, you will own the supply pipeline for your assigned platforms - driving efficiency programs that maximize utilization of existing infrastructure while ensuring new capacity is delivered on time. If you thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and are energized by turning complex data into clear, actionable strategies, this role is for you.
As a Platform Supply Planner, your day-to-day will sit at the critical intersection of supply chain execution, infrastructure operations, and financial stewardship. You will partner closely with SRE teams to ensure that infrastructure supply is always sufficient to meet published demand forecasts, while simultaneously driving programs to get more out of the capacity we already have. Specifically, you will:
Serve as the primary supply-side DRI for your assigned platform(s), owning the end-to-end supply pipeline from procurement through deployment
Partner with Platform SRE teams on a regular cadence to review supply status, identify gaps between published demand and available supply, and drive resolution
Develop and maintain advanced, data-driven supply models that provide clear visibility into current and projected infrastructure availability across a 15-month horizon
Lead efficiency and utilization programs to maximize the use of existing infrastructure supply, reducing the need for incremental capital expenditure
Evaluate and approve capacity provisioning requests from end users on assigned platforms, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment
Generate and distribute platform-level supply reports for leadership, Line of Business (LOB) capacity attribution, and financial initiatives such as resource clawback
Collaborate with Platform Demand Planners to ensure supply plans are tightly aligned with published demand forecasts, proactively flagging gaps or risks
Manage cross-functional schedules and stakeholder relationships to ensure the successful and timely launch of infrastructure programs
Propose and implement process improvements and new tooling to drive long-term operational efficiency and reduce manual overhead
Regularly present supply status, risks, and recommendations to managers, directors, and VP-level leadership Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field 7-10 years of experience in business planning, supply chain, operations, or a related field Experience developing and managing advanced capacity, supply, or demand models in a complex operational environment Experience presenting data-driven analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, up to and including VP level Experience working cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and finance organizations in a matrixed environment Experience as an advanced user of Microsoft Excel, including complex modeling and analytical techniques Direct experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion Ability to be onsite; this role is an in-person, onsite position Available to work nights and weekends as neededExperience with cloud infrastructure supply chain or capacity planning, including familiarity with hardware procurement lead times and data center deployment pipelines Experience using data visualization or scripting tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau, VBA, or similar to automate reporting and surface actionable insights Experience designing and driving utilization or efficiency programs that optimize the use of existing infrastructure or capital assets Ability to distill complex, ambiguous data into concise, high-impact narratives that enable senior leaders to make timely and confident strategic decisions Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive alignment across multiple teams without direct authority, particularly in a fast-moving, highly dynamic environment Self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership - proactively identifying problems, formulating solutions, and driving them to resolution with minimal direction MBA or advanced degree is a plus
