About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Google Play Regulatory team is at the front-line of ensuring a safe and compliant ecosystem for users and developers. We navigate the landscape of global regulations, working cross-functionally with engineering, legal, policy, GAPP, trust and safety operations, and product teams to implement and maintain compliance solutions. Our mission is to identify and mitigate regulatory risks, fostering trust and transparency within the Google Play ecosystem.

We are a dynamic and collaborative team, passionate about building scalable solutions that uphold user safety and regulatory standards in a rapidly evolving digital environment.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive ambiguous programs to address global regulatory issues, establishing clear frameworks and processes that deliver measurable business impact and long-term operational stability.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of Google Play’s regulatory roadmap, ensuring all product initiatives meet global laws and internal policies on time and within budget, minimizing friction for developers.
  • Orchestrate engagement between Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Play verticals (e.g., Apps, Games) and core platform teams to map technical dependencies and assess the downstream impact of privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive roadmap of emerging privacy initiatives, translating legal mandates into actionable software engineering (SWE) requirements and clear project milestones.
Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
