The PLC Tech inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. May support repairs and installations for other advanced production / manufacturing equipment. The PLC Tech diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes more complicated repairs or adjustments as needed.Essential FunctionsPerform preventative maintenance on PLC systemsProgram or perform repairs on PLC systemsPerform preventative maintenance or repairs on more advanced production equipment as neededPerform breakdown analysisPerform electrical wiring and motor controls troubleshooting and repairMaintain PLC networksOversee or perform general housekeepingUpgrade production lines with new/upgraded equipment/technologyDirect activities of outside contractors working on assigned lineChange line for package changeoversUnderstand and complete PLC control updates and revisions to support V curve performanceAble to troubleshoot and write code in Ladder Logic and or function blockAble to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on Device NetTrack all temporary repairs made in logic via CMMS/EXCEL and follow through to bring equipment back to basic conditionsAble to accomplish tasks with minimal guidanceEnforce GMP, safety, and audit standardsWork independently under limited supervision (self-management)Meticulous Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completedRequired Skills and CompetenciesPass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areasExperience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays)Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs)Experience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems)Experience with product manuals (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)Experience with schematics (electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays)Experience with troubleshooting (diagnostics, problem solving)Proficiency LevelIntermediate to AdvanceEducation and ExperienceBS in Control Engineering or equivalent demonstrated skillWorking ConditionsPhysical-Continuously standing or walking.
