Performs a full range of plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work across University facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operations. Responsibilities include assembling, installing, and repairing pipe systems, tubing, and fittings using a variety of methods such as soldering, brazing, welding, and mechanical connections. Installs and services plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and related components. Tests plumbing systems by filling with air or water and monitors pressure gauges to detect leaks and deficiencies; diagnoses and resolves issues such as clogs, leaks, and system malfunctions; and performs drain cleaning and system restoration. Reviews blueprints, building codes, and technical specifications to determine appropriate work methods and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and University standards.
