This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH) Crafts-Farrow, 7901 Farrow Rd, Columbia, SC 29203.
Under minimal supervision, you will perform trade related duties of complex difficulty specializing in the plumbing trade area to provide a safe environment and humane atmosphere for residents and staff in a multi-building health care agency. Duties will be performed at Northeast campus or Columbia campus.
Responsibilities for the Plumber I:
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A minimum of a high school diploma.
At least two (2) years of experience performing complex installation, maintenance and/or repair of plumbing systems and/or training directly related to the area of employment.
Additional Requirements
A valid SC drivers license.
Must have one (1) year driving experience without a moving violation.

Additional Comments
Position is considered essential and may be called back during crisis, disasters and emergencies. Must be included in the on-call schedule.
Post hire, employees must have:
Work in a variety of environments
Lift over 50 pounds, climb ladders, sit, stand, squat, kneel and crawl unassisted
Work overtime and participate in on-call rotation
Working knowledge of the methods, tools equipment commonly used in the plumbing trade
Ability to maintain detailed records on materials needed and used, good communication skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions and ability to perform heavy manual labor
Ability to work independently and work well with others
Compassion for mentally and/or physically handicapped individuals
Follow routine safety practices and standards
