Job Summary

The Plumber III installs, maintains, and repairs water, steam, condensate, pneumatic, fuel oil, natural gas, medical gases, fire main, soil drain, and sewer piping, valves, pumps, traps, regulators, distribution infrastructure, and fittings in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. This position provides indirect guidance to others and to provide project-specific management to others. Performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include plumbing and associated systems in accordance with departmental hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in a hospital or clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs for plumbing and associated systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by the management team. • Ensures that preventive maintenance PM tasks are properly completed in a timely manner, documented, and materials and time spent are also documented appropriately. • Performs inspections, maintenance, and repair while providing a safe environment for patients, team members, and visitors. • Demonstrates ability to perform as required, demonstrate knowledge of fire alarm response, demonstrate knowledge of Incident response, demonstrate knowledge of Response to Utility losses, demonstrate the ability to respond to an emergency, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with leadership. • Develops technical training parameters. • Trains and develops other team members working in the plumbing trade. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Eight (8) years of plumbing experience is required. Three (3) years of plumbing experience in a healthcare facility environment is required. Valid FL Drivers License required upon hire. Ability to work various work shifts and/or weekends as needed. Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities. Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy.

Preferred Experience

One (1) year of high-rise plumbing system experience is preferred. One (1) year of mechanical system experience is preferred. One (1) year of supervisory or project lead experience.
