Plumber III Position Overview As a Plumber III, you will perform journeyman-level commercial plumbing work with a high degree of independence. This role is suited for experienced, skilled tradespeople who can handle complex installations, troubleshooting, and mentoring of junior team members while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Duties and Responsibilities - Perform journeyman-level plumbing tasks including the layout, assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, waste, vent, gas, and hydronic systems).
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project drawings to execute work accurately.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing issues with minimal supervision.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Plumber I and II team members on the job site.
- Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Complete required paperwork, as-builts, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Actively support and promote a strong safety culture on every project.
Supervisory Responsibilities May provide leadership, coaching, and day-to-day direction to junior plumbers and helpers as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications - Experience: 5+ years of progressive commercial plumbing experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: Journeyman plumbing license required (or the ability to obtain one promptly). OSHA 30 preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently bend, lift, stand, and walk on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climb ladders/scaffolding.
- Work Environment/Safety: Active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions. This is a safety-sensitive position.
