Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Plumber l on the Melbourne Campus in Melbourne, Florida.

Salary & Benefit

The annual salary is $37,000. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.

Position Concept

Responsible for plumbing equipment, preventative maintenance of equipment, repairs of all plumbing fixtures, lift stations and related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years' experience in the plumbing field; to include, general, commercial, or residential plumbing, or irrigation.
• Licensed Plumber preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability and knowledge to read and interpret schematics.
• Ability to read and apply operating/repair instructions.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge and use of computer software related to college supported systems accessing and inputting data.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, architects and engineers.
• Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.
• A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
• This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.

• High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

Minimum physical qualifications:

• Must have ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to stoop and stand for long periods.
• Works outside in various weather conditions.
• Works in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment.
• Works in noisy conditions.
