Position Title Pipe FitterPlumber Department Shop Team Reports To Plumbing Lead Level Entry FLSA Status Hourly Non -Exempt Supervisory Requirements NA Position Summary The Pipe Fitter is responsible for building equipment for neutralizing and moving industrial wastewater purifying water for industrial pharmaceutical educational and municipal uses and equipment for the collection and use of ground and rain water. The Pipe Fitter lays out assembles and installs pipe systems pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial production and processing systems. Essential Functions • Ability to decipher blueprints or other related documents for tank water treatment and fluid handling equipmentassembly layout.• Cut thread and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws cutting torches and pipe threaders and benders.• Assemble and secure pipes tubes fittings and related equipment according to specifications by welding brazingcementing soldering and threading joints.• Attach pipes to structures and fixtures such as tanks using brackets clamps tools or welding equipment.• Inspect examine and test installed systems and pipe lines using pressure gauge hydrostatic testing observation orother methods.• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.• Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems supports and r elated equipment following blueprints.• Plan pipe system layout installation or repair according to specifications.• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials such as supports hangers and hydraulic cylinders according tospecifications.• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.• Verifying dimensions using measuring instruments tape measures rulers framing and t squares etc. for layouts.Knowledge & Skills • Problem Solving Logical thinking• Multi -tasking• Time management• Follow -through• Detail -oriented• Technical Capacity• Strong Math Skills• Knowledge of industry• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication• Foresight• Self-starterSelf -directed• Team - oriented• Aptitude to work at a constant pace to meet strict time constraints due to customer needs and satisfaction.Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma required• 3-5 years of experience in related field• Pipe fitting certificate for plastics and steel preferred• Knowledge of plastics steel and custom fabrication• Knowledge in mechanical carpentry plumbing mechanical drawings and welding• General knowledge of equipment safety and operation preferably Os ha 10 LOTO Confined space fall protection CPRForklift etc - but will traincertify• Familiar with fabricating equipment and machineryPhysical Requirements • Must be able to safely operate a forklift• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.• Must be able to sit for long periods of time• Must be able to walk and be on feet 80 of the day• Must be able to bend reach kneel and squatEnvironment • Manufacturing environment• Must be able to handle varying levels of stress• Must contribute to a positive working environment• Must be a team playerAll duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and requirements of this position.
