Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 5 months (with potential for extension and conversion to permanent)
  • Pay Rate: $27.00 $28.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

Job Summary

As a Plumber, you will be responsible for general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing, mechanical, and distribution systems throughout a facility. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, which is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot the water and medical gas supply and distribution system.
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber's snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
  • Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
  • Complete all HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.

Required Skills

  • Commercial / industrial experience
  • Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to use CMMS system and email

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Medical Gas certification preferred
  • Backflow certification preferred
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • OSHA 10 Construction (preferred but not necessary)

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4 5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Trade School / Apprenticeship Program (preferred)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience in commercial / industrial plumbing

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility / Office environment
  • Will be reporting to Hard Services Supervisor; team consists of Maintenance Mechanics, HVAC Techs, Plumbers, and Electricians
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Overtime expected
