Plumbing Design Technician

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Plumbing Design Technician to join their team in Cincinnati, OH on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will support the design and coordination of plumbing systems for industrial facilities, with a strong focus on producing high-quality construction-ready designs using Revit.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing plumbing systems for building projects and will be comfortable collaborating with engineers, designers, clients, and construction teams. Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar industrial facilities is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce plumbing designs for construction, including:
- Domestic hot and cold water systems
- Waste and vent systems
- Storm water systems
- Develop and maintain plumbing models using Revit.
- Prepare and modify plumbing drawings and layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Participate in building system coordination and clash detection activities.
- Identify and assist with resolving design conflicts and constructability issues.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Review and respond to shop drawings and submittals.
- Apply applicable plumbing codes and industry standards to design work.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and construction personnel.
- Support project schedules and deliverables while maintaining a high level of technical quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and implementation of design best practices.
Qualifications
- 10 years of practical plumbing design experience, or 5 years of experience with an Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience designing plumbing systems, including:
- Waste and vent
- Domestic hot and cold water
- Storm water
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- General working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes.
- Understanding of clash detection, clash resolution, and building system coordination.
- Experience with industrial facility design, preferably pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and work directly with clients and construction teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to learn quickly and broaden technical knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality design deliverables.
