Plumbing DesignerDepartment: PlumbingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Rochester, NYCompensation: $35.00 - $50.00 / hourDescriptionKennedy Mechanical Plumbing and Heating is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plumbing Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, field teams, estimators, and customers to design plumbing systems. The ideal candidate is organized, technically skilled, and passionate about delivering high-quality designs that support efficient project execution.ResponsibilitiesPrepare construction documents, shop drawings, and specifications for various commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projectsAssist in the development of design approaches and concepts on assigned projectsAssist in data collection and/or field verificationResearch building, plumbing and gas codesAssist in selection of equipment to fit the project designProduce detailed plumbing layouts in Autocad and Revit, based on applicable codes and standardsProduce plumbing fixtures schedules and rise diagramsProduce project-based plumbing drawings and specificationsEnsure that all drawings are prepared with accuracy, neatness and timeliness (prior to project deadlines)Communicate with team members, team leaders, other disciplines, and outside vendors to obtain necessary information for drawingsAssist with on-site observations during construction and coordinate design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers under the direction of the design managerCreate and review permit, construction and shop drawingsInterface with field personnel during construction to assist in resolving any field variance discrepanciesQualificationsExperience in plumbing design, mechanical construction, or related fieldProficiency with AutoCad and/or Revit MEP design softwareGeneral knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of plumbing systems including, but not limited to: sanitary and storm drainage, sanitary venting, domestic water systems, gaseous fuel piping, medical gas and process pipingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsKnowledge of building codes, engineering theories and methodologiesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentsBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHealth Saving Account with company contributionCompany Paid Life Insurance401(k) plan with company matchingPaid Holidays and PTOCompany-paid training and development opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
