Position Overview

This Plumbing Engineer / Designer role is based in Lakewood with hybrid flexibility, and is built for someone who wants plumbing to be their primary discipline rather than a side skill. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of direct consulting engineering experience with strong knowledge of plumbing systems in institutional and commercial buildings. Mechanical engineering exposure is a plus, but plumbing needs to be the core strength.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems for institutional, healthcare, and educational facility projects

  • Perform detailed plumbing design requirements and system studies

  • Complete 3D Revit and 2D CAD drawings for plumbing scope

  • Develop specifications, calculations, and code studies for plumbing systems

  • Prepare construction administration documentation as needed

  • Coordinate plumbing design with mechanical and electrical disciplines on shared projects

  • Conduct plumbing code studies to ensure compliance with current building codes

  • Communicate directly with project teams to document plumbing design requirements

  • Support survey and correspondence tasks tied to plumbing scope

  • Review plumbing drawings for accuracy and coordination with other trades

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of direct consulting engineering experience

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems for institutional and commercial buildings

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Working knowledge of current building codes

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in institutional or healthcare plumbing design specifically

  • Mechanical engineering degree or coursework

  • Prior experience as a project designer, engineer, or project manager

  • Stable work history with limited job changes

Compensation and Benefits

  • $80,000 to $115,000 per year, based on experience
