Overview:Our client is a well-established, full-service design-build mechanical contractor with a reputation for delivering innovative solutions across some of the Bay Area's most exciting and complex projects. They are seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join their growing San Jose team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping projects across biotech, semiconductor, higher education, and other dynamic markets — while advancing your career in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.What You'll Do:As a Plumbing Engineer, you'll bring technical expertise and creative problem-solving to projects that make a real impact. You will:Collaborate directly with customers to develop designs, calculate system requirements, and select equipment tailored to project needsTake ownership as lead Engineer on assigned projects, driving designs from concept through constructionDesign plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, compressed air, and natural gasPerform hydraulic calculations (pressure loss, flow sizing, pump selection) to ensure system efficiencyEnsure all designs meet applicable codes and standards (UPC, CPC, NFPA, ADA, and local requirements)Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver seamless, constructible solutionsPrepare specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documentationConduct site surveys and develop accurate as-built documentationSupport sustainability initiatives with water conservation and energy-efficient design strategiesMentor junior engineers and provide technical support for fabrication and field operationsParticipate in jobsite meetings and client presentations, building trusted relationshipsWhat We're Looking For:4+ years of plumbing design experience (commercial or industrial projects)Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related disciplineStrong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and best practices (UPC, CPC, NFPA, ASPE guidelines, ADA)Experience preparing plumbing drawings, specifications, and hydraulic calculationsFamiliarity with system types including domestic water, sanitary, storm, lab/medical gases, and specialty pipingProven ability to manage projects, lead teams, and deliver quality work on timeProficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT; BIM coordination experience preferredExcellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skillsEIT or PE license (CA) preferred, or the ability to obtainWhy Join:Competitive compensation package with growth potentialComprehensive healthcare and retirement benefitsPaid vacation, sick time, and holidaysRelocation assistance available for the right candidateBe part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and technical excellenceOpportunity to work on high-profile, diverse projects that challenge and develop your skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
