We are seeking a motivated Plumbing Helper to assist with the installation of plumbing systems in new residential construction projects. This entry-level position works under the supervision of licensed plumbers and provides hands-on training for individuals interested in building a career in the plumbing and construction industry.
The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn a skilled trade while working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Assist licensed plumbers with the installation of residential plumbing systems including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and appliances
Support both rough-in and trim-out phases of plumbing installation
Follow blueprints, job specifications, and local plumbing and building codes
Assist with plumbing system testing and inspections
Transport tools, equipment, and materials to job sites as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and work areas
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Report hazardous or unsafe conditions immediately
Work with other construction trades to ensure timely project completion
Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship to develop plumbing skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand safety instructions, job assignments, and project documentation
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Willingness to learn the plumbing trade
Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
Previous construction or plumbing experience is helpful but not required
Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in confined spaces and elevated areas
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
Work is performed on active residential construction sites
Work may take place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and dust
Environment may include loud noise from construction equipment and machinery
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots
Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines
Travel to various job sites in the Austin area may be required
