The Plumbing Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all plumbing projects and activities within the organization.  This role involves managing a team of plumbers and ensuring that all assigned jobs are completed efficiently, safely and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

Essential Functions
 

  • Plan and schedule all plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance.

  • Allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Monitor project progress, quality, and budget adherence.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of plumbers and apprentices.

  • Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members.

  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and safety.

  • When necessary, communicate with clients to understand their plumbing needs and expectations.

  • Provide cost estimates and proposals for plumbing projects.

  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.

  • Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and regulations.

  • Ensure that all plumbing work complies with relevant codes and permits are obtained as required.

  • Manage department to improve work quality, revenue, reduced call backs, and warranty work

  • Manage plumbing inventory, including tools and materials.

  • Optimize resource allocation to minimize waste and maximize efficiency

  • Prepare and manage budgets for plumbing projects.

  • Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure profitability.

  • Promote and enforce safety protocols and best practices.

  • Conduct regular quality checks on completed plumbing work to maintain high standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of plumbing jobs, including plans, permits, and invoices.

  • Generate reports on project status, budget performance, and team productivity.

  • Create and maintain the on-call and dispatch schedule for the department

  • Conduct regular department meetings to convey expectations, resolve challenges and to motivate department personnel.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree is a plus)

  • Relevant plumbing certification or license.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a related position

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office

  • Budgeting and financial management experience.

  • Excellent communication, analytical and time management skills

Schedule:

M-F 7am-3pm
