PM Maintenance Houseman

Position Summary

Moxy Allentown Downtown is seeking a dependable, hands-on, and guest-focused PM Maintenance/Houseman to support the hotel’s evening operations. This position is a versatile role that combines basic hotel maintenance, housekeeping/houseman duties, laundry support, public-area upkeep, and guest service.

The PM Maintenance/Houseman plays an important role in keeping the hotel clean, safe, functional, and welcoming throughout the evening. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, is comfortable working independently, can prioritize multiple tasks, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the hotel team and our guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintenance & Hotel Operations

• Perform basic repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel and guest rooms, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Complete routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and facilities and report maintenance concerns as needed.
• Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and ensure maintenance issues are properly documented and communicated.
• Help maintain hotel equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Assist with setting up, moving, or storing furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Respond to spills, leaks, or other situations requiring immediate attention.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and report potential safety hazards promptly.

Houseman & Public Areas

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of hotel public areas, including the lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other common spaces.
• Complete trash removal and ensure designated areas remain clean and orderly.
• Assist housekeeping with additional cleaning and room-support needs as necessary.
• Deliver linens, towels, amenities, and other supplies to guest rooms or operational areas.
• Assist with room turns, deep-cleaning projects, or other housekeeping tasks when needed.
• Help maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the property throughout the PM shift.

Laundry

• Operate commercial washers and dryers according to hotel procedures.
• Wash, dry, fold, and organize towels, sheets, and other hotel linens.
• Sort and properly store clean linens and identify damaged or stained items.
• Maintain an organized and sanitary laundry area.
• Monitor laundry levels and communicate supply or equipment concerns to management.
• Assist with ensuring housekeeping has the linens and towels needed to support daily hotel operations.

Guest Service

• Respond to guest requests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
• Assist guests with basic requests and direct them to the appropriate department when additional assistance is needed.
• Maintain a welcoming and professional presence throughout the hotel.
• Communicate guest concerns, maintenance issues, or unusual situations to the appropriate manager.
• Protect guest privacy and follow hotel policies and procedures at all times.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist other hotel departments as needed to support smooth daily operations.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and shift-specific tasks.
• Maintain accurate communication with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance teams.
• Follow all company, brand, safety, and security policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel, maintenance, housekeeping, facilities, or related experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair is preferred.
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and well-kept property.
• Reliable, dependable, and willing to assist wherever needed.
• Ability to communicate professionally with guests and team members.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull supplies and equipment as required.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
