PM Technician

Transdev in Monroe, Michigan is seeking a PM Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a PM Technician, you"ll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

  • Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.

  • Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components.

  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.

  • Select appropriate course of action for repairs.

  • Evaluate completed work prior to release.

  • Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools.

  • Perform road calls and emergency services, as necessary.

  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors.

  • Actively participate in safety or educational training as required.

  • Continuous ASE re-certification is required to remain in job classification.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.

  • Must have a valid driver's license. A CDL license is strongly preferred, or will be required within 90 days, Company paid training provided

  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided

  • Minimum of two (2) years direct automotive repair experience

  • Must have an appropriate mechanic's tool set.

  • Must have demonstrated experience operating automotive repair shop equipment.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

  • The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity.

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell. Must be able to lay on back on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • With stand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
