JOB SUMMARYThe Toolroom PM Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all Injection Molds in the facility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComply with Westlake Safety Policies and ProceduresKnowledge of general repair, hydraulic and electricalFollow standard work and safety practices to perform routine maintenance activitiesDismantle molds using hand tools and power toolsInspect molds to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools and power toolsRepair or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power toolsInstall interchangeable inserts in molds, using hand tools, power tools and Overhead Crane.Lubricate and clean parts and inspectMay repair or replace electrical equipmentRegular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to interact effectively with various levels in the organizationExcellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skillsGood mechanical, electrical and controls skills"Self-starter" attitudeAvailability to work any shift and overtimeAble to build cooperative relationshipsProven successful work experience with fork trucksOverhead Crane operation (Rigger II Training Provided)Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation(s) Microsoft Applications (general) Use smart phone applications for maintenance work order systemsGeneral Knowledge of Machine Shop equipmentEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant fieldESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or outOperate various assembly/manufacturing/repair toolsMust be able to taste or smellMust be able to position self to maintain equipment including under equipment and in small spacesBe able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentBe exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortableProlong standing or in stationary position for long periods of timeComplete repetitive movementsBend or twistWear all required personal protective equipmentLift/move/transport items up to 75 poundsBe in the position to move/traverse about inside site to access machinery, etc.Ability to operate various assembly/manufacturing/repair toolsRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.Should have strong hand-eye coordinationSpecific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depthSufficient physical reflexes and personal mobilityConstantly operates machinery, positions, sets up, handles or tends to, modifiesWork outside of normal business hours, occasionally on short notice.Westlake offers you the potential to enrich your work life and career experience in an entrepreneurial environment.
