Position Summary:

Product Mechanical Engineering Technician will support mechanical assembly and cosmetic repair processes while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role focuses on performing physical assembly support, recovery tasks for metallic frames and wooden crates, and collecting data for failure analysis. The ideal candidate is safety-driven and possesses strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the production line by resolving assembly-related issues promptly.
  • Perform cosmetic touch-ups on finished racks to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks for material handling.
  • Utilize mechanical tools (pliers, hammer, chisel, screwdrivers, taps, files, etc.) for adjustments and repairs.
  • Operate power tools such as Dremel, drill, jigsaw, and others as required by work instructions.
  • Organize and classify materials and fixed assets within the assigned area.
  • Capture and input data into computer systems using keyboard, scanner, and camera.
  • Maintain and control inventory of assigned tools.
  • Review video footage to identify and analyze assembly process failures.
  • Implement corrective, preventive, and containment actions
  • Participate in cleaning and organizing activities, applying 5S methodology.
  • Handle and store paints and chemicals safely, following all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations to prevent contamination or hazards
  • Perform other related duties as required to meet organizational needs, in compliance with applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Skilled in using tools and performing hands-on work.
  • High school diploma or GED required, technical degree desired.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in maintenance, machining, Mechanical or cosmetic repairs on metal or plastic parts.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and components.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in electronics or server manufacturing environments.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical assembly and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with data capture and documentation processes.
  • Proper use and compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) standards.
  • Understanding of basic failure analysis principles.
  • Knowledge of packing materials and packaging processes.
  • Ability to accurately measure components using precision tools such as Vernier calipers.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise technical reports.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaborate within a team environment.

Work Environment:

  • Office/desk located within a climate-controlled warehouse or production floor

  • Frequent use of computers, barcode scanners, and office equipment

  • Frequent use of tools, pliers, screw drivers, etc.

  • Occasional walking, lifting (up to 30 lbs), or light material handling

  • May require working flexible shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays

  • Warehouse environment & testing enviroment - can be noisy, fast-paced, and may require PPE

  • Standing, walking, and lifting throughout shift
