As a Principal Developer in Deltek''s Technical Center of Excellence (TCOE), you will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for building scalable, high-performance solutions. You will collaborate closely with customer-facing Technical Consultants and act as a technical anchor, developing and deploying custom solutions across multiple Deltek products. This role requires strong ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to continuous learning, contributing to innovation streams and unified standards that drive consistency, efficiency, and scale across a global team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop client-specific customizations for global accounts, including Java-based ERP extensions, stored procedure hooks, custom application screens, and batch processing solutions across billing, revenue, purchasing, HR, and general ledger modules.
  • Build structured, reusable code components and pattern libraries to reduce long-term maintenance costs and enable flexible deployment across all products.
  • Document client-specific requirements and patterns for future engagements.
  • Collaborate effectively across a global team, including consultants, project managers, Deltek partners, subcontractors, and cloud operations.
  • Follow unified deployment processes with centralized release management and peer code reviews, applying disciplined change management practices.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools throughout the project lifecycle to design, develop, and maintain scalable technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain reusable AI prompts, business rules, and instruction libraries to accelerate development.
  • Proactively recommend tooling, automation, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and avoiding knowledge silos.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation adhering to TCOE standards, architecture decisions, code documentation, deployment guides, and runbooks.

US (Remote)

  • 8-12+ years of experience in development
  • Proven expertise in technical solution delivery, architecture, process improvement, and technical leadership
  • Deep background in Costpoint extensibility and integrations, including use of Costpoint extensibility designer, Integration Console (WIC), stored procedures, and Java
  • Familiarity with hook-based and event-driven plugin patterns within the Costpoint framework
  • Proficiency in both Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL, with experience writing SQL compatible across both platforms
  • Proficiency in Maven, Git, Jira, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Claude
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP API development and integration
  • Knowledge of secure coding standards, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Commitment to governance standards, adherence to SLAs and KPIs, and timely project delivery aligned with organizational processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of cultural differences and regional business practices
  • Experience working effectively in distributed, global teams across multiple time zones with strong asynchronous communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct Costpoint experience strongly preferred; equivalent depth in a comparable enterprise ERP extensibility framework (SAP ABAP, Oracle EBS, Microsoft Dynamics) considered with expectation of a Costpoint learning curve
  • Knowledge of Maconomy, Replicon, or Vantagepoint ERP platforms is a plus
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Airflow is a plus
  • Track record of innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience mentoring and coaching developers

The U.S. salary range for this position is $86,500.00-$152,500.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
