Job Description

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Focus on the Family has nearly 700 employees who work to achieve the mission of enriching the lives of families, engaging the culture, advocating for life and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The work is meaningful, the culture is rewarding, and the purpose is eternal.

The Podcasting & Social Media Director position exists to lead the team responsible for Focus on the Familys podcasting & social media brand areas. The position ensures that the assigned brands content reaches and engages constituents through high-quality long-form episodes and a consistent stream of short-form clips, all reflecting Focus on the Familys voice, theology, and standards so that families and ministry audiences are reached, engaged, discipled, and strengthened in Christ. The Director owns quality control and performance analysis for both long-form and short-form content, oversees the regular publishing cadence of full episodes, and consults the teams on production decisions and approvals in order for the team to create content that is editorially sound, on brand, and built to perform on each platform. The role connects content decisions to audience data, holding the team accountable to measurable engagement and growth, and must balance output and voice across each brand or audience. The position leads a multi-disciplinary team that may include producers, assistant producers, videographers, graphic designers, and community managers, fostering a collaborative, Christ-centered, accountable culture that maximizes each persons gifts while keeping the ministrys mission at the center of every editorial and distribution decision.

Reviews short-form pieces produced by videographers, producers, and community managers for quality, accuracy, and brand fit

Analyzes short-form reach and engagement metrics and guides clip selection, formatting, and posting strategy

Oversees long-form publishing for assigned brand feeds, ensuring a consistent cadence of full episodes is scheduled, optimized, and released on time (typical cadence ranges from approximately 8 to 12 episodes per period depending on the brand assignment)

Manages episode metadata, titles, descriptions, and artwork coordination for publication; maintains the publishing calendar and ensures releases align with broader ministry priorities and, where applicable, balance output across multiple brands

Serves as the production consultant and approval authority for the team, advising producers, videographers, graphic designers, and community managers on production decisions and granting final approvals before content goes live

Sets and upholds production and editorial standards for the team, respecting the distinct tone each brand or audience requires

Resolves creative and technical questions and ensures approvals move efficiently
