Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator Houston, TX JOB SUMMARY The POCT Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and optimizing point-of-care testing programs, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficient implementation of testing methodologies across the system. WORK SCHEDULE • Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of POCT program; recommend improvements • Coordinate implementation of new testing methodologies and instrumentation • Develop, validate, and maintain procedures for testing processes • Manage POCT data systems including operator tracking, system checks, and error investigations • Standardize testing procedures across sites for consistency and efficiency • Conduct annual review and updates of POCT manuals • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement POCT policies • Ensure compliance with quality control, audits, and regulatory standards • Support inventory management, proficiency testing, and POCT-related projects • Maintain strong communication with clinical teams to support patient care REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory, or related science (Required) • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience • Certification (one required): MLS (ASCP) MT (ASCP) • Prior POCT experience (Preferred) • Knowledge of Telcor QML (Preferred) KEY SKILLS • POCT program coordination & compliance • Quality control & proficiency testing • Data management systems (Telcor QML) • Process improvement & standardization • Strong organizational & multitasking skills • Effective communication & collaborationI
