Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Benefit Eligible
The City of Eagan is accepting applications for Police Cadets.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or have already completed a post-secondary degree program leading to an associate's or bachelor's degree. Applicants who have completed POST-mandated skills training are also eligible to apply. Individuals hired for this position may be eligible for tuition reimbursement and may continue their education while working in the Cadet position.

This position may include rotating shift work, including weekend and holiday hours, up to 29 hours per week.

Position Summary
Police Cadets are visible in the community and participate in community outreach initiatives. They also support the organization in maintaining the police department's vehicle fleet, perform errands, assist the public when necessary, and perform other tasks as assigned below. The Police Cadet is a training position to evaluate candidates for the position of Police Officer for the City of Eagan. Individuals in this position must make continuous progress toward their degree in Law Enforcement or a related degree and must be considered a viable candidate for promotion to Police Officer. Should the Police Chief determine that a Police Cadet will not be hired as a Police Officer with the City of Eagan, the individual will not be able to continue in the position.
