SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs routine to complex tasks and duties assigned to classes within the Police Officer series including protection of public health, safety and welfare, and enforcement of applicable federal, state and local laws; learns policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; performs related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Police Officer is the entry-level position and is responsible for the full scope and responsibility of assigned work, under direct supervision. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Police Corporal by the latter's responsibility for the more difficult and complex tasks and the performance of the coordination and oversight responsibilities for a designated beat.
Salary: $98,703.07- $149,279.10 annually DOE
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
General supervision is provided by a Police Sergeant or higher level management staff. No supervision is exercised unless serving as a member of the Field Training Program. Police Officer II may provide technical supervision to on police calls in the field to lower level officers.Job Type: Full Time
