The City of Adrian, Georgia is currently accepting applications for the position of part time Police Officer. The City is seeking a dedicated, professional, and community-oriented individual who is committed to protecting and serving the citizens of Adrian.

The Police Officer is responsible for, but not limited to, enforcing state and local laws relating to public safety and welfare; patrolling the City to observe and prevent criminal activity and other conditions that could endanger the public; responding to calls for service; conducting investigations; writing citations and reports in a clear and concise manner; appearing in court as required; and working closely with other emergency responders and City Hall personnel to provide quality public service.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Possess the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or its equivalent.
  • Possess and maintain current Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification.
  • Possess a high school diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Be able to attend mandatory police training classes and continuing education courses at various locations.
  • Be available to work day or night shifts, weekends, holidays, special events, and emergency situations as required.
  • Successfully pass a background investigation and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Complete all pre-employment requirements, including a pre-employment packet, polygraph examination, and physical examination.
  • Have no felony convictions or convictions for family violence offenses.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the community and contributing to the continued progress and success of the City of Adrian.
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills.
