Police Sergeant

REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training

College level course work or specialized training in law enforcement, criminal justice, police science, public administration, or a related field. An Associates or Bachelor's degree is highly desirable.

Experience

Three years as a certified peace officer or two years as a certified peace officer with at least one year of full-time supervision experience. Probationary employees are not eligible.

License or Certificate:

Possession of an Arizona driver's license within two months of hire.

Valid peace officer certification. AZ POST Preferred.

Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Level B certification.
