Experience:
9-12 months experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
Physical Demands:
Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Licenses and Certifications:
A valid drivers’ license is required at time of application. Upon date of hire, a valid Arizona drivers’ license is required.
Full Police Department background check required, including polygraph (must be 18 years old to consent)
Attainment of Arizona State Criminal Justice Information Systems Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of hire – obtained through on the job training

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in an unarmed public safety role within the Police Department. This position plays a vital part in supporting law enforcement operations by delivering exceptional customer service and performing a range of public safety duties. Responsibilities may include patrol support, assisting with crime investigations, transporting prisoners, and providing administrative assistance, depending on the assigned area. The role emphasizes community engagement, crime prevention, and the safe and respectful care and custody of individuals in our charge.
Key Responsibilities:
The Police Services Officer position is a civilian position within the Police Department and performs or assists with the following tasks:
Patrol Position
Processing and transporting detainees
Maintaining safety and security of detainees and the facility
Fingerprinting
Responding to and investigating criminal and civil incidents
Writing reports
Providing customer service
Completing other law enforcement duties as assigned
Investigations Position
Manage a caseload of cases submitted to MCAO
Conducting follow-up on cases
Writing reports
Managing the Peoria Sex Offender Registry Program
Processing and transporting detainees
Maintaining safety and security of detainees and the facility
Fingerprinting
Providing customer service
Completing other law enforcement duties as assigned
