POLISHER/STONE COUNTERTOPS

Job Summary

 Responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing various stone countertops and other materials. Uses cloth, hand tools, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface. Inspects for flaws or cracks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, and polish objects.
• Correct defects.
• Prepare surface for further finishing.
• Mark cracks and splits for repair.
• Polish materials according to specifications.
• Measure equipment.
• Trim and scrape objects.
• Use chisels and scrapers to smooth product.
• Clean equipment and work tables.
• Load or remove workpieces from work tables.
• Record product data.
• Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in polishing stone countertops is preferred.
• Must know how to use powered and manual tools.
• Standing with walking is required for most of the day.
• Pulling and lifting is required.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Must possess good teamwork skills, basic math skills and basic computer skills.
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Ability to handle physical workload.
• Deadline-oriented.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
• Must be able to perform other duties as needed or assigned.
