OVERVIEW:
The Polish Department team member is responsible for polishing metal parts to meet quality and production standards. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to meet performance goals in a manufacturing environment. As this department carries a higher hourly rate, expectations for attendance, quality, safety, and productivity are set at a higher standard.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform polishing operations on metal components using hand and power tools.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety issues, or quality concerns to supervision.
• Follow established safety, quality, and production guidelines.
• Participate in mandatory daily safety inspections and implement best practices at all times.
• Meet performance expectations, including pieces per hour, quality standards, and department goals.
• Adhere to strict attendance requirements and comply with departmental monitoring of time and productivity.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in polishing, grinding, or finishing preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of this job. While polishing, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to grip polishing tools, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The task requires frequent bending, twisting, and leaning forward at the waist. The employee must regularly lift and move parts weighing up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and move parts up to 25 pounds. Employees must tolerate a high level of noise and may be assigned hearing protection as part of a hearing conservation program.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a production area with moving mechanical parts and continuous machine noise. Noise levels are typically around 90 dBA. Temperatures may vary, and the production area can be hot. The environment includes potential exposure to metal dust and vibration from polishing tools. Workers are expected to follow safety and ergonomics guidelines, including maintaining neutral postures where possible.
There will be two hours training prior to shift start
Must be able to lift over 50 lbs
New starts on their first day will begin at 3pm
