Required Degree: Ph.D. in political science or related field, or substantial professional experience in politics or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience: The BYU Department of Political Science invites applications for a Continuing Faculty Status-track (BYU equivalent of "tenure-track") Professional position. We invite individuals of all ranks and areas of specialization to apply. While a PhD is preferred, we welcome applications from practitioners with substantial professional experience in areas such as national security policy, intelligence, law, international development, etc.
Duties/Expectations: The appointment would begin in Fall 2027. Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for high-quality teaching, mentoring, advising, and be committed to giving the university's students a sound academic experience, preparing them for professional careers. They will be prepared to engage in citizenship responsibilities in the department, college, and university, and will have an opportunity to engage in professional projects that bring value to students and faculty. Salary, teaching load, and travel support are competitive.
