Position Summary

The Polysomnographic Technologist will prepare adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and equipment for sleep disorder testing. The technologist will monitor polysomnograms, identify sleep-related abnormalities, and accurately document testing results according to facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist

• At least 1 year of experience performing sleep studies

• Experience with sleep disorders, sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respiratory patterns

• AHA BLS – Required

• Must possess current and unrestricted certification or registration as one of the following:

  • RPSGT – Registered Polysomnographic Technologist

  • BRPT – Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and accurately monitor/document polysomnographic studies

Holiday Requirement

Northside requires travelers to work:

2 Major Holidays out of the following 3:

• Thanksgiving Day

• Christmas Day

• New Year's Day

AND 1 Minor Holiday:

• Friday after Thanksgiving

• Christmas Eve

• New Year's Eve

• 36 hours/week

• Night shift

• 13-week assignment
