TheSleep Technologist is an individual thatperforms sleep studies to assist in the assessment, testing and monitoring, diagnosis, management and care of patients with sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, REM behavior disorder, narcolepsy, insomnia, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have successfully completedone of the exams listed below: Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT): CPSGT-CertifiedPolysomnographic Technician RPSGT-Registered Polysomnographic Technician National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC): CRT-SDS - Certified Respiratory Therapist (If not already SDS, individual must pass exam within 7 months ofhire date) RRT-SDS -Registered Respiratory Therapist (If not already SDS,individual must pass exam within 4 months of hire date) American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM): Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) Individual must have a Louisiana license. Individual must be competent in the performance of sleep studies. Individual must attain a high standard of professionalism, ethics, and moral character Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
