Location: Onsite – Ohio Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Role Summary
Our client, a progressive community healthcare system, is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its Sleep Disorders Center team. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing diagnostic sleep studies while providing compassionate patient care and accurate data for physician interpretation.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing polysomnography studies, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a specialized sleep medicine environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic sleep studies, including:
Polysomnography (PSG)
Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT)
CPAP-related studies
Prepare, apply, operate, and remove sleep study equipment according to established protocols
Monitor patients before, during, and after testing to ensure safety, comfort, and quality data collection
Analyze sleep study results and accurately score data for physician interpretation
Recognize and correct recording artifacts to ensure high-quality diagnostic results
Select appropriate testing procedures and recording configurations based on patient needs
Assess patient physical and mental status throughout the testing process and communicate concerns appropriately
Maintain and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment, perform routine maintenance, and report equipment issues
Ensure accurate documentation and completion of required records for clinical and billing purposes
Participate in quality improvement activities and collaborate with other sleep technicians and healthcare professionals
Provide excellent patient service while maintaining a professional and supportive environment
Required Qualifications
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) OR
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with active Ohio licensure
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sleep center or respiratory therapy setting
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret and document clinical information
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff
Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality patient care standards
