Responsibilities:
Duties to be performed under the general supervision of a Polysomnography Technologist II or Licensed Physician. Performs polysomnography acquisitions, per departmental protocols while monitoring signal quality. Performs scoring of sleep testing and generates study reports. Document routine observations per department policy to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting. Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment. Educates patients regarding sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center. Communicates with Sleep Center physicians regarding their patients and / or testing procedures. Applies electrodes per physician ordered montage and departmental procedure. In consultation with the Supervisor, makes decisions regarding application of appropriate therapy. Analysis of polysomnograms. Prepares sleep studies for record storage and/or archiving. Other duties to be performed as assigned: Trains for scoring sleep studies. Attends meetings and in-services as required. Functions as an effective team member. *Other functions as required.
