Summer Pool Director – SVCC

Job Overview
Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club (SVCC) is seeking an energetic, organized, and dedicated Summer Pool Director to oversee all pool operations for the summer season. This leadership role is responsible for managing the pool facility, supervising lifeguards and staff, and ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all members and guests.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, attention to safety, and a passion for creating a positive poolside experience within a vibrant club community. This is a paid seasonal position.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the pool facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
  • Supervise, schedule, and manage all lifeguards and pool staff to maintain high standards of safety and service
  • Enforce all pool rules, water safety protocols, and health regulations
  • Monitor pool activity and respond effectively to any emergencies or safety concerns
  • Coordinate staff schedules, breaks, and coverage to ensure proper supervision
  • Maintain pool equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organization of all pool areas
  • Communicate effectively with members, staff, and club management regarding pool operations and updates
  • Support general club programming, including coordinating pool usage for summer camp and youth activities
  • Foster a professional, team-oriented, and positive environment for both staff and members

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in aquatics management, pool supervision, or a related leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond calmly in emergencies
  • Knowledge of water safety practices, lifeguarding standards, and emergency procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and well-run pool environment
