Pool Lifeguard Part-Time Multiple Opportunities

Performs skilled water safety work in preventing accidents and injuries at a County swimming pool. Safeguards patrons and enforces safety rules; instructs swim lessons for all ages; rescues bathers in distress; performs emergency water rescue techniques; administers First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), or Automated External Defibrillator (AED) when necessary. Provides positive and professional assistance to patrons; assists with routine facility maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

• Must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants for this position must possess the following valid certificates at time of application:

• American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguarding/recognized equivalent certification
• ARC or American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification/recognized equivalent certification AND
• ARC Standard First Aid OR First Responder OR FL Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/Paramedic Certification)https://pbcsecure.pbcgov.org/hris2/recruitment/jobannouncement#tabView

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application):

• Valid ARC Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification,
• Valid ARC Lifeguard Instructor Certification, and
• Valid ARC Cross-Oxygen and AED Instructor Certification.
