Job Summary:
Are you skilled in pool maintenance, water chemistry, and facility upkeep? The City of St. Peters is hiring a Pool Maintenance Technician to ensure our state-of-the-art aquatic facilities-including the Rec-Plex Natatorium, The Cove Aquatic Center, and Laurel Park Pool-are safe, clean, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage water quality, maintain pool equipment, and perform essential repairs to create a great experience for the community.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM. Must be available for occasional nights, weekends, and holidays to support seasonal operations and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Water Chemistry & Quality Control: Monitor and maintain pH, chlorine levels, and chemical balance to meet safety standards.
- Pool Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, service, and repair pumps, filters, UV systems, chemical feeders, heaters, and circulation systems to ensure smooth operation.
- Facility Upkeep & Repairs: Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and repairs on pool decks, slides, water features, spray pads, and locker rooms.
- Seasonal Preparation: Assist with opening, closing, and winterizing outdoor pools and aquatic facilities.
- Electrical & Mechanical Work: Troubleshoot and repair timing systems, lighting, and electrical components related to pool operations.
- Operational Support: Help with aquatic events, swim meets, and special programs by ensuring all systems are functional.
- Equipment Operation: Safely use and maintain power tools, pumps, HVAC units, plumbing systems, and motorized maintenance equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- High School graduate or GED certificate.
- One (1) year of applicable experience.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License valid in the state of Missouri.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 lbs.
