Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service, performing expert pool water testing, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. Your deep knowledge of pool chemicals and maintenance will be vital in providing tailored solutions for our clients' pool and spa needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Water Testing & Analysis: Perform precise water testing (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, etc.). Explain results clearly to customers and provide expert treatment recommendations.
  • Customer Consultations: Engage with customers to understand their pool/spa needs and provide tailored product recommendations for chemicals, equipment, and accessories.
  • Sales Operations: Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system. Proactively upsell complementary products to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Inventory & Merchandising: Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by restocking shelves and arranging merchandise. Assist with inventory counts and receiving shipments.
  • Maintenance & Support: Fill chlorine jugs for customers. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including bank deposits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the pool industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of water chemistry and pool equipment systems (pumps, motors, chlorinators).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and dependable.
  • Certification: Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is a significant plus.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
