Description

Primary Purpose:

Maintain safe, clean, and properly functioning swimming pool facilities by performing routine maintenance, water testing, chemical balancing, and equipment repairs to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain)
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe

Minimum Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in pool maintenance, water treatment, or a related field preferred

Special Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration systems, and water treatment procedures
  • Ability to safely handle and store pool chemicals
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety data sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform daily inspection of pool facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Test and maintain proper chemical levels in pool water in accordance with local and state regulations
  • Clean pools, decks, filters, and related equipment
  • Operate and maintain pool pumps, filtration systems, heaters, and chemical feeders
  • Identify and report maintenance needs and perform minor repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, maintenance, and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Assist with opening and closing pools for seasonal use
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed

EQUIPMENT USED:

Pool testing kits, chemical feeders, pumps, filtration systems, vacuums, hand and power tools, pressure washers, and standard maintenance equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands:

Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying-over 45 pounds. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Responsibilities of the position can require irregular work hours.

Environment:

Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; work with high-temperature and low-temperature equipment; work with high-pressure equipment; work with high-voltage equipment; and work in confined spaces.

Salary:$24.08 Per Hour
