Pool Radiologic Technologist - Surgery CenterThe Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic X-ray testing according to established departmental procedures ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. This position may also perform the role of Surgery Center Technician or provide assistance within the anesthesia function when patient diagnostic testing volume is low. The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment including peripheral equipment in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONGraduate of an accredited radiological technologist school required.LICENSECERTIFICATIONLicensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection NJDEPRegistered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRTR.BLS for Healthcare Providers requiredEXPERIENCE1-year diagnostic testing preferredCandidates must possess ability to multitask with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hireNJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biannually to workARRT expires on incumbents date of birth and must be renewed annually to workWORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment including exposure to infectious disease blood-borne pathogens potential injury and hazardous substances including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time and require the ability to sit in front of a CRT monitor much of the time.
